Speaker Professional Biographies

Dr. Perry Solomon is the Chief Medical Officer of HelloMD.com, where he oversees all medical aspects of the business at the company's San Francisco headquarters. Dr. Solomon is responsible for managing the extensive network of qualified physicians for HelloMD, generating content for the company's Answers platform, speaking to various peer and consumer audiences regarding the use of medical cannabis to treat various medical conditions, and often collaborating with other medically related companies that present themselves to the business. Dr. Solomon is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with over 30 years' experience as a medical care provider.

Dr. Malik M. Hasan, M.D., Neurology  --   Founder, NuVue Pharma.
      Dr Hasan is founder and principal investor of Monument Systems LLC.   As a holder of more than 50 patents for medical processes, Dr Hasan has been a national expert in the formation of health maintenance organizations-- founder of Foundation Health Systems, (successor to Qual Med) the country's fourth largest publicly traded managed HMO.  As a board certified neurologist, Dr Hasan was an advanced fellow at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. Dr Hasan relocated to Colorado in 1975, and has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the Colorado Medical Society and the Colorado Health Data Commission.  Dr Hasan holds degrees from King Edward Medical College, Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, and the Royal College of Physicians of London.

Dr Kenton Crowley,  Pharm.D., FARRFM, ABAAHP -- Chief Medical Officer, Palliative Care Corp.
           Prior to co-founding Silver State Trading, Dr Crowley worked as a Pharmacist Specialist for the Dept. of Pediatrics, Division of Child Development at University of California, Irvine, supporting primary research and drug development with NIMH, Alza and Richwood pharmaceuticals. He posses years of clinical experience in acute care medicine in both centralized and decentralized setting, with expertise in nutritional support, infectious disease, SICU, NICU, MICU. Working with American Drug Stores (Sav-On/Osco), he established their western regional training facility and served as a Regional Trainer and 3rd Party Marketing Specialist. Furthermore, he taught contemporary compounding pharmacy as an adjunct clinical professor with the Nevada School of Pharmacy. An active contributor to his field, Dr. Kenton Crowley holds ties with a number of professional organizations including the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP), Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA), and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). 

In addition to fulfilling his professional responsibilities, Dr. Kenton Crowley has dedicated time, energy, and resources to a variety of charitable and civic organizations, such as the Arthritis Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Red Cross.


Robert Hoban, Esq.,  Founding member and General Manager,  Hoban Law Group

His law firm represents the largest players in the marijuana industry across thirteen states and many of the nation’s largest hemp producers, suppliers, and manufacturers. Bob is recognized as one of the leading commercial hemp/cannabis practitioners nationwide. He was identified as one of the, “Five Pot Lawyers to Watch in 2015” by MarijuanaStocks.com  Bob is a member of the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Hemp Regulation Advisory Committee.         Hoban Law Group is currently before the 9th Circuit Court seeking action to clarify the DEA's continuous designation of CBD as a controlled-substance under schedule one.  Hoban is also a professor at the University of Denver in the Law and Society Program and regularly instructs regarding cannabis and hemp related legal and policy topics. He also teaches government regulations and public policy courses. In 2014, Bob led a research practicum concerning the efficacy of marijuana regulation; the first of its kind in the U.S. In September, 2015, Bob was hired by the University College of Professional and Continuing Studies at D.U. to develop and instruct medical marijuana and related regulatory courses in its Healthcare Leadership graduate program. He will instruct a research practicum in Winter 2016 concerning the policy and regulatory framework of industrial hemp.     Because of this work, Mr. Hoban has worked with numerous state, local and international governments in developing both marijuana and industrial hemp regulations.

Mason Tvert, V.P., Public Relations and Communications

Mason Tvert is vice president of public relations and communications at VS Strategies. He co-directed the successful Amendment 64 campaign in Colorado, and he co-founded and directed Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation (SAFER), which laid much of the groundwork for the victory. Mason previously served as director of communications for the Marijuana Policy Project, where he worked on a variety of federal, state, and local marijuana policy reform efforts, including several successful ballot initiative and legislative advocacy campaigns. He is a co-author of the book "Marijuana is Safer: So why are we driving people to drink?" and he frequently appears in the media discussing cannabis and cannabis policy.

Larisa E. Bolivar, Founder/CEO,  Bolivar Consulting-- Exec. Director, Cannabis Consumer Coalition
      With 16 years as a recognized pioneer in the global legal cannabis industry, Ms Boliver was named by the Washington Post as "one of Denver's most well-known proponents"  of MMJ.   Bolivar founded one of Colorado's first medical dispensaries, and promoted one of the first physicians to provide a patient recommendation.  
   As principal of Bolivar Consulting, she has established a well-known client list among the industry's leading providers.  Bolivar has helped win cannabis business licenses in multiple states, and also helped many companies through multiple levels of growth.  A leader in the consumer watchdog area, Bolivar was a crucial advocate for Denver clamping down on tainted pesticide- impacted cannabis.  She holds per Masters in Public Policy from Regis University, and her B.S. in Psychology from the University of  Phoenix.

Dr Lloyd Santiago Covens, DBA -- Publisher , West420 NewsWeekly
        Covens has served as conference director for more than 40 national gatherings, specializing in cable, satellite, cellular and telecommunications innovations, including high definition television.  Seeing the great potential for growth in the cannabis field, Covens began publishing West420 NewsWeekly in 2014, and has hosted five cannabis educational seminars on cannabidiol for health applications,  tourism in the cannabis sector, and is working toward new ventures in social consumption venues.  Holding a doctorate of business administration (DBA) from Argosy University, Covens has researched consumer reaction and support of  innovative products, especially in the renewable energy area.    Covens has been active in Colorado and New Mexico politics for more than 16 years, and served as field and communications director for US Senate, state legislatures, governor races, county commission and city office candidates.   A native of New York, Covens believes cannabis therapy for many illnesses are about to be discovered, and seeks the research and development aspects be given full investment attention.
